Mahmood miss out on century, Jaishankar returns with another fiver

Sunrise School were made to pay for their folly of sending Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School to bat first.
The four-time finalist who would have taken first lease of the wicket anyway had they won the toss went on to amass 219 for two to thump Sunrise by 152 runs in the UAE Xchange U19 Abu Dhabi School League.
The Pakistan School openers Khalid Mahmood and Hafeez ur Rahman shared a 144-run stand for the first wicket in 15 overs before Rehan Azam smashed four sixes and three fours for a 10-ball 37.
Sunrise in reply were shot out for 67 with Shah Faisal, the UAE U19 international, and Mahmood taking two wickets apiece to complete the rout at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council s Nursery Oval-1.
In a couple of U16 matches, Sailles Jaishankar took his second five-wicket haul to lead Abu Dhabi Indian School to a resounding 100-run win over Bright Riders at the adjoining Oval-2.
The medium pacer who turned 14 last week had earlier returned with excellent figures of 3-1-11-5. He had taken five wickets for eight runs against Model School in an U19 match. The Cambridge High School downed Al Yasmina by eight wickets to notch up their second win of the competition in the same age division.
Mohammed Azzan grabbed four for 12 in four overs and Karthik Meiyappan, another UAE U19 international, took three for six from four overs to dismiss Al Yasmina for 80.
Cambridge lost two early wickets but an unfinished 73-run stand for the third wicket between Meiyappan and Azzan, each scoring 30 not out, saw them through with more than nine overs to spare.
Fazal Shahid took four wickets and smashed 36 not out in 16 balls to lead Emirates Future International to a 10-wicket victory over Bhavan s to keep their hopes alive for a semi-final spot.
