Sailles stars in Zayed Academy’s third win in England

Sailles Jaishankar produced another match-winning performance to scrip Zayed Cricket Academy s third win in as many matches in the U13 Sportarabia Worldwide Sussex County Cricket Club tournament.

The lanky medium pacer who grabbed five wickets in the opening game against Skillz Academy of England starred with both the bat and ball for his team to clinch a three-run thriller over Dorset at the Ardingly College grounds on Thursday.

Zayed Academy electing to bat first after winning the toss for the third time, were left struggling at 46 for six before Sailles and Zaid Shaikh came to their rescue with a superb 106-run stand for the eighth wicket.

Sailles made a top score of 54 and well-supported by Zaid who chipped in with a valuable 35 for their team to put up 164 on the board.

Dorset in reply were restricted to 161 for nine in 40 overs. Sailles with two for 22 from seven overs and Athul Murali two for 22 from eight overs were the pick of the Zayed Academy bowling.

Aditya Titus and Nikhil Menon, the off spinner, bowled tidy spells in the middle overs to return with figures of 6-0-19-1 and 7-0-17-0 respectively.

Zayed Cricket Academy 164 all out in 37 overs (Sailles Jaishankar 54, Zaid Shaikh 35) bt Dorset 161 for 9 in 40 overs (Sailles Jaishankar 2-22, Athul Murali 2-22).
