Zayed Cricket Academy overcame Dorset by 89 runs to register their second win in as many games in the Sportarabia Worldwide U13 Sussex County Cricket Club tournament.
Electing to bat first, Zayed Cricket Academy put up 181 for six, thanks to an undefeated 77-run stand for the seventh wicket in 60 balls between Athul Murali and Aditya Titus.
Aditya was the more adventurous of the two, smashing 37 not out from 25 balls while Athul played the anchor role for a well-compiled 46 not out from 52 deliveries for their team to post a challenging total.
Zayed Cricket Academy suffered an early blow when opener Viishnu Menon fell without scoring but Nikhil Menon (21) and Sidharth Ramesh (17) with a slow and steady 30-run partnership rebuilt the inning.
Dorset in reply were bowled out for 92 with spinners Kabir Gaba (3 for 22 off 4.3 overs) and Sidharth (2 for 12 from 2 overs) taking five of the last seven wickets to fall to bowlers after medium pacers Sailles Jaishankar, Rohin Bajaj and Soorya Sathish provided the early break throughs by grabbing a wicket each.
Scores in brief:
Zayed Cricket Academy 181 for 6 in 40 overs (Athul Murali 46 not out, Aditya Titus 37 not out, Nikhil Menon 21) bt Dorset 92 all out in 27.3 overs (Kabir Gaba 3-22, Sidharth Ramesh 2-12).
