Danube Lions clinched a six-run thriller over Alubond Tigers, their main rivals in the group, to stay on course of a passage to the knockout round in the division-1 Techaccess Cup.

Ali Afzal and Zahoor Khan took a wicket each in successive overs to dismiss Alubond for 227 and their team to notch up their second win in the competition at the Zayed Cricket stadium.

Danube s top order batting contributed mainly to their total with Tharindu Mendis carrying his bat until the end for a well-compiled 54 not out of 69 balls after coming in at No.5.

New Medical Centre enjoyed a run feast against Enigma in a lop-sided game. They amassed 528 for seven and skittled out their opponents for 58 in 19 overs with Alam Gir taking five wickets for no runs in three overs. Niresh Fernando (81) and Fayyaz Ahmed shared a 124-run opening stand in 6, balls and Saqib Ali, the former UAE international coming in at No.4, smashed a 60-ball 103 before retired out.

Yodhin Punja, the teenaged UAE international, and Umar Farooq took seven wickets between them to send Interface Transworld crashing to 73 all out. United Bank Limited in reply knocked off the winning runs in under 10 overs.
