Dawood stars with bat and ball for One Stop Tourism

Kashif Dawood produced one of those rare feats in cricket. He smashed a century and took five wickets to script One Stop Tourism s 68-run victory over Abu Dhabi Gymkhana in the Techaccess Cup, the capital s premier 50 over-a-side tournament.
OST were 70 for four when Dawood arrived at the crease. He revived their inning with a well-compiled 114 not out and with help of the lower order for his team to amass 331 for seven.
Dawood was on the spotlight again when OST went on to the pitch to field. He wasn t successful with the new ball in his first spell but returned later in the Gymkhana inning to trigger a dramatic collapse from 256 for five to 263 all out under lights at the Zayed Cricket stadium. Gymkhana made a flying start with the openers Ghulam Farid (37) and Faisal Ashraf (38) putting on 75 in 70 balls before a 95-ball knock 99 from one-drop Haroon Iftikhar.
However, the middle order failed to keep the momentum going and with the required run rate climbing all the time the pressure eventually set the panic button on for Gymkhana. Shaiman Anwar also joined the century club. The UAE international struck an 82-ball 114 to lead Danube Lions to post 273 for seven and a convincing 173-run win over Multiplex.
Jamil Aslam smashed the third century of the week in the competition but ended up in the losing side.Batting at No.5, Aslam stroked 129 off 125 balls and shared a 201-run stand for the sixth-wicket with Faisal Mustafa (59) to rebuild Royal Gymkhana s inning from 19 for five to 258 for nine. Ibsons knocked off the winning runs for the loss of seven wickets and more than six overs to spare.
United Bank Limited made short work of Eleven Lions to get their campaign off to a flying start.
