Interface, Alubond clash in the UBL T20 Cup final

Interface Transworld held their nerves to overcome a spirited fightback led by UAE international Mohammed Shahzad to clinch a nine-run win over Danube Lions and a passage to the Abu Dhabi Tyre Co. presents 10th edition UBL T-20 Cup final.

Shahzad smashed 69 not out and with Samiullah Younis (24 not out) shared a 78-run stand for the sixth wicket but still ended up short of overhauling the 146 target in the semi-finals.

Interface will meet Alubond Tigers, who were convincing 77-run winners over United Bank Limited, in Saturday s final under lights at the Zayed Cricket stadium.

Danube were left struggling at 59 for five in 10 overs before Shahzad joined by Younis rebuilt the inning and raise their hopes.

Ahmed Raza with figures of one for 14 from four overs and Jamshed Ahmed one for 20 from four were the pick of the Interface bowling.

Amjad Gul smashed a 54-ball 93 not out for Alubond to post 193 for six and send United Bank Limited to 122 all out.

Alubond Tigers 193 for 6 in 20 overs (Amjad Gul 93 not out, Umair Khan 31, Ghulam Sabir 28) bt United Bank Limited 122 all out in 17 overs (Usman Saeed 50, Dawood Ijaz 27, Mohammed Azhar 3-31, Umair Khan 2-3, Sultan Ahmed 2-18).
